Anyone got one of these or can comment on the longevity and robustness of them? One has come up locally to me for £100 and I'm quite tempted by it.

Currently have 2.5 T-Maxx but its a bit big to run in the local park and I keep hearing scare stories about them. I know buying nitro used is a bit of gamble anyway, but I haven't been able to find any bad press about the HPI engines, whereas the T-maxx seems to come in for a fair amount of flack.

My T-maxx has a fresh engine in it which is just run-in, so I reckon its probably worth £150ish. Seems like a winner to drop down to the smaller truck and come away with £50 towards something else, just as long is I'm not having to replace the HPI engine in 2 months time!

Hpi make a fairly good standard of car for bashing about in parks etc you won't go wrong.

As for the engine you can re build them if you want. I imagine it will be the same engine as they have used for years you would probably find a 2nd hand one if you wanted.

Good to know, thank you. One of the problems with the Traxxas motor seems to be that you basically can't rebuild them. There is a bodge you can do which involves putting the liner in the oven (and hence divorce) but it's only good for a few runs.
