Hi all

Occasionally I'm going to have stuff the Cayman full for UK holidays. I've looked at the following options as a good start to maximise the capacity. Anyone any experience with these? I'd be interested if anyone has worked up a 'set' front and rear that works well from other suppliers too. I can't get my head round how individually purchased bags/cases would fit the strange Cayman shapes as yet, so if anyone has some options that would be great.

Finally, any pics of how you pack your stuff on the engine 'shelf' would be excellent.

Finally finally I'm also looking at getting the luggage guard so I can pack it up to the rafters for the annual two weeks at the coast smile

No specific set for the Cayman, the front will be the same as the boxster and the rear trolley bag will fit

I'm not sure the dimensions of the Caymans front boot but when I went away for 2 weeks in my 991 we used 2 of these types of bags:

These fitted exactly in the boot once they were filled and did the job perfectly. They definitely aren't as classy as the ones you are looking at but are a fraction of the price.

Thanks for that, they look great. Just the type of info I'm looking for. After people who've tried options. I won't be using any luggage for flights, just in the Cayman. They seem like a steal too smile

We bought for a euro trip in our 981, bags from Eastpak. The Transverz med is a perfect fit in the front, and you could probably get two in there. We had a med, a small, and a another bag for cleaning. They split in two, and very useful.

Well, we have a cottage on the coast that we need to take bedding for, not duvets but the other stuff as an example. We went for 14 nights this year and for some reason the wife took 18 pairs of jeans too! Maybe I need to swap the wife? wink I'm just preparing so I don't get more of an ear bashing when she can't get her eight pairs of shoes in for example biggrin.

Thanks for that. I've got the tape measure out again and have took loads of pics. The Eastpak ones aren't that cheap but they seem built to last. I'm coming to the conclusion that the more rigid cases aren't the way to go, I.e the roadsterbag ones

I have the roadster bag set, and whilst not perfect they are a great set of luggage. For the Cayman they come as a 5 piece set:
2 small suitcases and a case barely large enough for a laptop for the frunk
1 large wedge shaped case and a very small wedge for the rear.
The laptop case is use by my wife for all her cosmetics and hair drier, and the small wedge is just about large enough to to take one/two pairs of ladies shoes - but does a reasonable job of wedging the largest suitcase in the rear so it does not slide too much.
There is enough space on top of the two smaller suitcases and laptop case to then put walking boots and a couple of extras. I don't know if Roadster bags do the large wedge shaped case seperately, but if they did then that would sit well above the engine area.
So far this year we did a week in the Somme and later a week in Wales and my never complained about lack of luggage space. I call that a result. Next year we intend to do Scotland and/or Ireland.

While doubtless a Porsche set is a likely to be nicer, you can do the same job with standard stuff. The frunk fits a couple of small/medium size cases as has been said plus a few bits and bobs, the rear boot takes an airline size handluggage case plus a couple of small squashy bags and the space above the engine fits another medium sized case plus a couple of somewhat larger squashy bags. Although you may well be able to fit in more with "tote" bags clothes are less likely to get creased in normal sized cases that are laid flat - though the bottom case in the frunk can be a bit awkward to get in and out. Never found a need for a luggage net with that luggage.

Or you can fit around a 120 bottles of wine plus anything shortarses can fit behind the seats.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I'll look through the various options, measure up and then see what will suit us best. Thanks again.
