We now know that Pastor and his sponsors are lined up for one of the two seats at (what is currently) Lotus.

So who will get the other one?

Looking at it, his name is Samuel and has a Toyota supercharger.

I am hoping/expecting JEV.

I'd like to see JEV race, but will Ferrari want to release him? The red team have just released their reserve driver, Gutierrez, to race at Haas, so will they also want to loose JEV to another team? They may just offer him an upgrade from simulator monkey to official reserve driver.

I'd put money on Alonso taking that one. A large amount of cash would keep Ron happy enough, I doubt he seriously expects Honda to be fighting from the front in Melbourne and he could do without a miserable ex World Champ upsetting his engine supplier.

Alonso. Stranger things have happened, just like in 2008....

If not JEV. He was a match for Daniel Ricciardo at Toro Rosso and is wasted in FE

I'd hope Palmer get's the seat, he's their current test/reserve driver so already has a relationship with and knowledge of the team and seems to have done okay in his FP1 outings for them.

Maybe, Alonso wants to win, nothing else matters, he didn't exactly leave McLaren or Ferrari amicably, he'll know the effect his comments will have on the team, planting exit seeds perhaps? Meanwhile very few people are better connected to Renault than Briatore and I can't see Alonso relishing the prospect of tooling around with his GP2 engine, looking at back of the Manor Mercedes all next season.

He's just been confirmed, great news to have at least 3 Brits in F1 next year.

Ace thumbup

Now we just need to Renault to step up and buy the team and sort out its finances, and sort out its engine.

Apparently the debt has been cleared so should all start to move now.
