Hi all,

New to the AM section. Will hopefully be here a bit more next year smile

Does anyone run winter tyres on their V8 Vantage / Vantage S? Please could you advise what size/offset wheels you use?

I have a T350t which (if all goes to plan) I will be swapping next summer for a V8 Vantage. I'm taking the Tiv skiing this winter and so am in need of some winter tyres. If my research is correct, it seems both TVR and Aston share the same 5 x 114.3 bolt pattern so, if it's possible, I'd like to purchase a set of wheels and Dunlop winter tyres which I'll then be able to keep when I sell the Tiv and use when the V8 Vantage comes along.

Any advice on options welcome. Thank you!

PS apologies if anyone is upset by the thought of sports cars being used in the snow... Sorry, but I won't be confined to 6 month usage because of our crummy weather! smile

Yep, use it 12 months a year if at all possible! I drove my MG Midget through 9 Aberdonian winters and i'm not going to stop now!

These are the standard Vantage 18s... http://astonmartinbits.com/models/5-V8-Vantage/par...

I've just gone from a TVR (Tuscan) to a Vantage and I'm loving the Aston. They aren't as quick as the TVR from the off unless you go V12, but get into the big numbers and the Astons class certainly comes through, much more more composed.

These are the wheels you'll need for the Vantage:-

I wouldn't worry about getting some to fit the TVR, I'd just get some winter tyres fitted to the Spiders then when you take them off, just get them fitted to the spare Aston alloys.

Hi Paul, this is great! Thank so much, you seem to be the man in the know!

My research so far suggests that my (current) Spiders are 8.5J front and rear, and that the offsets are ET42 (front) and ET33 (rear). The AM V8 wheels in the link you posted are completely different, both in width and offset.

So I think, as you suggest, the best idea is to buy 4 winter tyres, use these on my T350t Spiders and then purchase a set of AM 18" wheels to fit these onto once I swap cars thumbup

I run Sottozeros on a set of Sportspack rims over winter. No help to you because they are 19s, but certainly more stylish than the factory standard 18" wheel.
