Be interested to hear of anyone who has got an aftermarket exhaust system (back box specifically)that can reliably pass 95dB days on track.

Yes, I realise that the standard exhaust will pass (Just). But for various reasons I want to run an aftermarket one, but I've tried playing with a few of them and nothing comes close basically.

I suspect it's related also to the angle that it exits the car, wonder if getting the elise (where the pipes come straight out) is easier to get passed?

Any one want to share their research?

Cheers

NA or SC? I understand the SC can be particularly hard on exhausts, so Jim from 2bular was recommending a repackable system if you want it to be trackday friendly. I think he said annual repacking should be ok for a good few trackdays. May be worth giving him a call if you are after something specific.

It's an SC

Do you mean repack it for the track, then take it out for the street?

Ideally I just want to throw something on that stays there basically that gets me through noise tests ok. Or is this completely unrealistic?

I guess the point is that they tend to get louder over time?

The packing gets blown out over time (especially by SC cars) so you renew it once in a while.

We use Chris Tullett exhausts on our Lotus race cars, with everything being custom he could build you exactly what you want and it will be beautiful quality, just not cheap!
