Looking at changing my front disc's and pads in the near future, just looking to see what the brand to go for? the car is out of OPC warranty, therefore not tied into a OEM brand.

also if i buy myself (can get discount through my works) would most Indie's be happy to fit ?

thanks

The reason performance pads are noisier is that an anti-squeal compound used in the construction of road pads that softens the material. Performance pads have less of that compound and can squeal like an absolute bd until they're really hot, especially race pads.

Not a lot of people know that. Indeed I didn't until I talked to a bloke who made race pads for a living and asked the question wink

...and Pagids from ECP work out nice and cheap if you can time it when they have an extra 15% off (subscribe to their mailing list. The 50% this is a DFS job in that it's always on). They work fine.

Anyone can change discs and pads if you don't fancy it yourself, even Kwik-Fit. Need to check each place regarding supplying your own parts.

I've used 2 indy's and they are happy to fit parts I supply. They do this as they are a bit more relaxed about it than others but also because I have a relationship with them. You will find plenty of indys and regular garages who won't fit parts you supply. As for what brakes, if you have been happy with the standard set up and have no desire for more then stick to an OE set up.
