Looks like the rumours may have had some truth to them...

Slight difference between a retail release PDK GT4 and a race spec track car though. AP's confirmation of no PDK GT4 is still accurate, sort of!

This is great news because as the race car gets developed, bits wil find themselves onto the Road car. Also there will be homologation production runs as Porsche become more ambitious with the Cayman race program.

The GT4 looks a lovely car. Im looking forward to meeting up with a few owners at various race tracks as time passes

Reckon this time next year, you will be able to place your useless LOI's against one of these or a Spyder, with working headlights et al?

I am sure a GT4 981.2 will be available with which ever gear box one wants.

I think that you are right. I think that despite the difference in engine location, the GT4 is a closer spiritual successor to the 996 and 997 GT3's than the 991. Its definately the only current Porsche GT car that I would genuinely like to own.

My Ehresmann 981 3.8S PDK with some Centre Gravity suspension mods was as close as I could get to a PDK GT4 given shoulder injury and dodgy knee but of course it is mainly a road car that also goes quite well on track in the Porsche tradition. Already looking forward to Gen 2 GT4/RS with PDK #noexcusesnow

I think this news means that the GT4 is now the only production Porsche road car which actually has an engine used in motorsport! wink

I heard that the engine may carry a dry sump modification. If that turns out to be true it doesnt get that claim quite yet wink
