Great spec, bet its fun to drive, however not keen on the looks as a bit to "max power" for my liking.

Whilst on the theme of bonkers 911 turbos just noticed this in PH classifieds - 1000 whp + yikes

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...

I've had a quick ride and also run against the 9e XX at VMAX - doubt there is a quicker 997 out there in the UK - super sonic fast! I expect someones going to get a bargain as I believe that cars had circa £150k-200k spent on it in mods. Amazed what a pussy cat it is at ordinary speeds.

think I'm in love

http://www.rpmtechnik.co.uk/sales/vehicle/996-mk1-...

Supplied new to Germany in 2000, this Mk1 GT3 is a rather special machine. In 2001 the car was purchased at 1300 miles by a German gentleman who wanted something unique that attracted very little attention but had the firepower to outgun anything he came across. The car was dispatched to world renowned tuner Gemballa for a special project including their GTR600 engine conversion (600bhp).

The customer however requested the engine wasn’t swapped with a 996 Turbo unit, rather he requested to retain the GT3’s original engine but convert it to twin turbo. Allegedly the owner was well connected with Weissach (Porsche research and development/ Motorsport site) and special development pistons, rods, crankshafts were purchased for the internals to create this one off engine. It is supposedly the only one running water-cooled intercoolers and a completely independent cooling system for both turbos, this also necessitated a revised front end to the 996 Mk2 to allow room, whilst they we’re doing this he took the opportunity to de-spoiler the rear for a full Q car look. The car is running Gemballa suspension and brake setup. The total cost for the build and car weighed in at circa £200,000. The car was sold to a German dealer in 2009 who kept it in his personal collection until 2015 where it was then registered in the UK.

The GTR600 has been maintained by Gemballa throughout its life, without regard to cost and has a huge file of receipts detailing all works. The car has had a major service and inspection and is ready for the next owner to enjoy.

Just noticed the 9e XX is up for sale again. I think the first buyer who agreed to buy her may well have been on hallucinogens with virtual bank accounts and house in la la land laugh

Based on a 2007 997 Turbo, the car underwent the transformation by Nine Excellence (9e). The original 3.6L Mezger engine so famous for its reliability was completely rebuilt to 9eXX specification, with billet knife edge crankshaft, stroke and piston increase giving a 4.2L cubic capacity. The engine is extensively modified internally to cope with power over 1000hp, with custom con rods, studs, gaskets, heads that have been ported, machined and o-ringed. Other components include titanium value springs, reground cams. The list is long with a price tag of £45k just for the engine alone.

To provide the power for the engine, the entire intake system has been reworked, with custom GT3586 Hybrid turbos to 9eXX specification with a switchable sports exhaust system.
The car has four different power settings at a touch of a button and has methanol/water injector programmed automatically for top power setting. It runs on Vpower99 on a day to day basis although top performance is achieved on higher octane fuel.

The gearbox was based on a standard tiptronic box, which has been upgraded to hold 1300nm tq and shifts twice as fast as a standard box. In addition, the driveshafts have been upgraded to enable hard launches.

To compliment the power, the suspension has been upgraded to B16 Damptronics, full RSS Tarmac Series and custom geometry. The brakes have been upgraded to Girodiscs and Pagid29 pads to enable this car to brake as quickly as it accelerates.

The engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, tyres etc are less than 2000 miles old.
Some performance figures

- Top speed is limited to 232mph
- 0-300kph is less than 19 seconds in the top two power modes
- At the Top Gear track the car hit 201mph (true GPS speed) in 0.72 of a mile
- At Vmax event recently the car hit 217.6mph (true GPS speed) in middle power setting
- This car outperforms to 200mph cars such as the P1, 918, Laf

Couple of videos of performance

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBK-GOU2H-c&fe...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZH6LJ-D_rA&fe...

And yet this car drives normal in day to day driving, can be used to going to the shops as well as high speed cruising across Europe for example, all in the comfort that a standard 997 Turbo brings.

9e can provide support at events for the potential buyer and arrange private testing to the buyer to get used to the performance this car offers.
