I have my car up for sale here, and this morning had an email from PH from a prospective buyer:

Email: x

Name: x

Phone: x

Message:
" Hi, My wife asked me to contact you regarding your car because she is very interested in purchasing it. Is this your car?
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/f...
First I want to make sure if this is your car and if the price is slightly negotiable. Waiting for your reply.
Thanks
"

When i clicked the link, it took me through to what looked likt a PH page, but the address in the notice bar looked off.

So i checked my PH account, and no email from the person in the account. When i replied to the email it bounced back as well. Im guessing its some sort of scam trying to get log-in ID's.

Alternatively its genuine, hence ive removed the personal details for now, but if it is a scam will post them up.

It's in the fraud wiki : http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Classic phishing scam using faked email addresses and a hacked wordpress site.

I've got my SAAB 9-3 SE Turbo up for sale on here as well & that message above was word for word identical to the email i received this morning. Some sellers must be so gullible as it must be worth the scammers time & effort to do this.

Had the same yesterday. Looked suspicious, so called the number, which wasn't recognised. So from the 3 enquiries I've had via PH, they've all been scams.

Woohoo, go PH!

So now, not only is the classifieds st for buying, they're st for selling, too! (can't remember last time I used them to view/buy).
