Wife's 1 series had Bridgestone Potenza RFTs, 215/40/18 + 245/35/18
The 215's are a bit hard to get hold of.
£600 a set..
After a bit of research found that 225/40/18 fit the front. So a set of Goidyear Eagle F1 RFT fitted @ under £500
The ride is so much better, almost like proper tyres! It's a different car. So saved £100 and a far superior ride.
Worth looking at if you need a set..

Noticed this as I had a 123d on that size and looking at 135i. Boy, rare and expensive sort of puts me off the 1!

A positive of the R32, normal tyres !

I had Eagle F1 RFT on my 2014 F30 and I did 12k miles on them in 1 year and only wore them down to 6mm!

I took delivery of a F36 last week and found they had Bridgestones on frown I'd be surprised if I make it to 12k miles before I ditch them as the Eagle F1 is quieter and has more grip!

I'm on P Zero RFTs at the moment, but I'm about to change to S001, so I'll see whether they're better/worse.

Well this has come at an ideal time. I cant find the Eagle F1's in run flat though.

All I can find is the Goodyear Eagle NCT5's.

The F1 is only available in a limited range - I can get them for the front (225/40/18) but not the rear (255/35/18).

I have 205/50/17 on the front and 225/45/17 on the rear for mine.

Im at a bit of a loss as to which to go for. Most of the reviews arent for the RFT's.

If you think RFT Eagle F1s are good you should try the non RFT version.

Thankyou for this.

After reading a bit about them, Im somewhat torn between the Kuhmo Ecsta KU31 and the Michelin Primacy HP. The reviews they have had dont set them apart much. But theres a £35 ish price difference.

Anyone here run either of the above and have a preference or suggestion?

225 40 18 are very common and cheap, same goes for the rears. Most people switch to that.

OP, try Supersports next time.

Well I've pulled the trigger on a complete set of Bridgestone Potenza S001 RFTs for the Beemer. It'll be interesting to see how they compare with the P Zeros I have at the moment.

I found the Goodyears far better than the Potenza's. Quieter/far less crashy ride/100 cheaper too..

Can't say I've got an issue with the ride on my car (F31 335d on 18" wheels) but I agree the Bridgestone run-flats generate quite a lot of road noise. Also, although I think the latest generation RFTs are a huge step forward from the ones being fitted 10 years ago, they're still more expensive and don't perform as well as the conventional equivalent in my view - therefore, come replacement time I'll be moving away from run-flats....
