Recently I've had the urge to find a mint example of a car that was 'born' the same year as me, I'm not particularly old at all at 22. With a 5k budget what cars should I be looking at. My real aim is it to be my daily driver.

Has anyone else done the same thing?? I'd interested to hear your stories

My Land Rover Defender was "born" in 1985, the same year as me.

However it spent 11 years in the army before being first road registered in 1996 and finally being torn apart and rebuilt twice... by me smile

So yes it's the same age as me, much in the same way as triggers broom

So K or L reg. I'll suggest the Porsche 944 if it was produced that late.

I'm not sure about 'mint example', but I have an August '87 Land Rover 110, and I was born in July '87. I find it strangely pleasing... Also very easy to remember how old it is!

I wanted to but not many 1958 cars
a) In budget
b) suitable as daily drivers
I spent some time with a 1967 car but even this was not up to a comfortable fast dash to SOF in comfort. A/C is really nice when it's hot.

I ended up with an MB SL (94) all the luxuries I need and makes for a great GT.

Our VW Camper we've owned since 1997 is technically my Wife's, first registered the same day she was born. Didn't notice until quite some time after we bought it when finding out it's date of manufacture to see if it was VED free.

I have two vehicles the same age as me : they are both Tractors, a little grey Ferguson TEA 20 and a rare French Vendeuvre which is a single cylinder Diesel .

They both run at least as well as their owner and are used regularly for grass cutting.

As for cars, well British cars produced in the early 1950s are nothing to write home about so I don't own one but a fourth generation Series 62 Cadillac Convertible would be my first choice followed by a Ford Thunderbird.

I recently bought a BMW-V12-engined Rolls Royce Silver Seraph which has proved to be a magnificent conveyance in which to breeze across France and a wonderful alternative to our fast Sports car. If I were the same age as the RR I would be just about to take my driving test !

A classic bit of Pork and, according to the advert, just a day older than me.
I'm now off to buy a lottery ticket or two
