Why is the Cayenne so cheap?
Discussion
So here is the thing. I bought a Porsche as investment but now I have it the man maths is out the window and I am enjoying the car for what it is.
I used to be addicted to cars and so was my cousin who we "buried" today. He lived for the moment and as I was sat staring at his coffin it made me think.
The vicar at the service said that life was a series of rocks, pebbles and sand. The rocks are the important things. The pebbles what you fill your life with and the sand is the enjoyment.
My Porsche is sand. It is glorious fun.
I also drive a Nissan Navarra V6 day to day. I'm thinking that it is more pebble than sand (although as it is a remapped V6 it is on its way to a sand like state).
So I'm now thinking of getting a bashed up truck/van for day to day stuff (just changing career after selling my business to become a property developer) like a VW T3/4 and then getting either a Range Rover or Cayenne.
The Cayenne seems to plummet in value faster than rock. You can get a full service history one for just £15K. That makes me nervous. But then a range rover is notorious for breaking down.
What would you get to suit my 996 C4S on the drive?

I agree with Crimp totally, although from what i researched the Cayenne is a money pit, especially the older ones, and lots goes wrong with electrics and this costs a lot to fix. Perhaps the money would be better spent else where? I bought an Audi B7 S4 avant as my workhorse after looking at Cayenne's, 1 year in with the Audi and it's a superb car!
Haha! Had a turbo cab, and overlapped it with an L322 RR SC.
Within a week found myself reaching for the RR keys in preference to the turbo. Probably a lot to do with living in London, but sold the turbo shortly after. Hey ho - be careful what you wish for!
BTW the thing about RRs all breaking down is about as accurate as saying all NA 996 and 997.1 engines die of bore scoring and IMS failure.
