Just seen the video, quite awful.
I'm inclined to agree, I've been to Turkey twice in the last 7-8 years and always thought I'd go back but things like this certainly do make me think twice.

Did anyone take responsibility for the attack yet? As someone previously said, this will likely influence people's decision to go on holiday there. Not good. Poor people.

Just seen the death toll looks like 86 and might rise further. This is a sad day and really highlights how fragile life is

I suppose they are located near to Syria and various jihadists but I still tend to think it's like not going to Devon because of terrorist attacks in London.

Brits are surprisingly uninfluenced by the threat of terrorism when they go on holiday. Egypt, Morocco and Turkey all remain popular destinations. UK tourists even still wanted to stay in Tunisia and Mombasa after the attacks there. As long as the foreign office doesn't advise against travel, British tourists will keep going.

I'm sure Turkey's despot President will now announce yet another crackdown on freedom of speech and arrest his opponents. If Turkey falls into chaos, you don't have to look any further than Erdogan

Indeed. We recently booked Kalkan for the third year running next June. No intention of changing our minds though I noted it was a bit quieter this June frown

I wouldn't put it past Erdogan to organise the bomb himself as an excuse for martial law.

It was either Erdogan or ISIS, the man hates Kurd's and this was a Kurdish peace rally and he has been known to turn a blind eye when he could of stopped ISIS from killing so many Kurd's

fking animals. I'm flying out to Ankara at the beginning of January to visit a friend just booked my flights yesterday, couldn't believe this when I read about it.

Some videos and images are doing the rounds and it's absolute carnage. Such a shame.

I was supposed to be flying to Istanbul on Tuesday on tour, but it was cancelled a couple of weeks ago by the state run concert hall, along with a lot of other stuff. I wonder if they suspected something was brewing. Bloody glad I'm not going out now.

I worked there for 2 years a while ago on a petrochem project, I could tell you a few tales...

I went there on hols in 2010 (Alanya, (a different country to where I worked though (Georgian border down to Erzurum, proper bandit country).
Talking Turkey ... see my post in the migrant crisis thread tonight. Bit of a connection. Might turn out to be something... might not.
