Out with the old V8... In with another!
Discussion
Man maths is a funny thing!
So, I had owned my previous 4.7 Vantage for just under two years, and came in from a predominantly Lotus background, but more importantly, very bright colour cars. I decided on a Tungsten on Black Vantage thinking that if I didn't gel with it, then it would be easier to shift on than something like a yellow one.
Handover day -
Fast forward 18 months and truth be told, I didn't ever gel with it like I did previous cars. It looked fantastic, interior was beautiful, and it sounded great (from outside). I just never really wanted to take it for a drive. In fact I don't think I ever did just go for 'a drive'. I considered modifying things like wheels and exhausts, but ultimately I don't think it would have helped.
So decision made, time to change. Wedding fast approaching next year I had decided I was going to sell the V8, and go sensible for a while. My girlfriend warned me against it, she knows i love my car, but I decided it was the right move.. I looked at various cars but unsure where to go so contacted my local AM dealer and asked for a sale only price. I'd then take some time and buy at my leisure. I was even considering a VW Up!
Offer made that I was happy with...
''Or we'll offer you some extra if you buy another car from us''..... Fatal.
I'm now the proud owner of an N420 roadster in black what a difference! The sport suspension gives it a bit more purpose, the brakes are definitely better, although not sure if they differ from my old one? And the sport exhaust, MUCH better! Again, if only a bit more noise could be heard from the driver seat! It sounds more 'NASCAR' is the best way I can describe it. Lovely! The carbon makes it look a bit more sporting, rather than gentleman's cruiser aswell.
And of course the soft top adds a whole new dimension to the car, and I feel this is the car I should have bought first time round. I've been out for random drives already, almost looking for an excuse to take it out!
One minor point to note is, my previous vantage was totally faultless, but unfortunately this one is going back to the dealer tomorrow morning due to an intermittent stalling problem I hope its nothing major. Any ideas?
Hope the good weather keeps up!

Funny you say that. The Evora 400 was the only other car I was tempted by. The inevitable depreciation was the killer though, a used roadster will be high up on my list to consider
Parked next to an i8 over the weekend..
Lovely looking car, very futuristic, but not sure I'd swap for one..
That's the car back to the dealership for hopefully a quick fix
