Spyder Colours
Discussion
Have you done you PEC half day yet?
The Spyder they have is GT Silver with the Classic interior - it was the only thing about the car that didn't make me go WOW! If it is between the two colours you have listed I'd go for the blue.
It nice to hear someone else has pushed the Spec. into the high 70ks. I was thinking I'd over done it. This may just mean that two of use have over done it but I keep thinking 'I'm unlikely to ever be ordering a new Porsche again so I may as well get the car I want'
Thats what I say to you: Get the car you want and sod what anyone else thinks...... though do tell us here so we can express our views anyway.

GT Silver and SBM are both a bit underwhelming in normal daylight, look nice under bright lights though. I don't think GT Silver is worth it, but I would urge you to try and see it for yourself. I think CWM would go well with the Classic interior, but YMMV, as they say on Rennlist!

FWIW , I had a Rhodium Silver 991 GT3 - always wished I'd ordered it in GT Silver - Rhodium is a funny colour , in some lights it looked amazing and others really flat (generally in direct sunlight) GTSM can also look better in certain lights , however to my eye it looked better than Rhodium more times than not : colour super personal though
I realise thee are not Spyder's - but this thread may help ?

I've gone into the £70s as I tend to tick the boxes. Did it with my GT3 and have never regretted it
My view ( and I'm Scottish ) is that £70k is the same as £75k
The GT3 is black
So I'm stuck if it's not GT metallic
SBM is really strong but I might tire of it after a few months
And I do like red and black interiors
I then add leather leather and other bits inc door sills and best sound and and ...
Man maths knows no limits !

Sounds like my car ! That was quick ... I when for GT sliver with Spyder interior and satin wheels.

Who do you know ?
Be great to see some pictures of the car on Saturday before I go to lock down
Satin wheels ? Is that the same as the GT3 alloy ?
Hard to assess without having seen one
I had a call yesterday just as I was arriving at the experience centre from my opc telling me that they are due 2/3 cars next year. Second or third qtr. I stuck down a dep so here's hoping. Managed to drive the spyder yesterday for an hour on track, it's lovely, quick and sounds great. It had buckets (not gt3 RS fixed) and was really comfortable. I thought the normal buckets were recliners but they too are fixed in position. Tipping forward to say clean behind seats is possible but reclining fore and aft adjustment isn't. I get now why so many people go for chairs as if you're not happy with the slightly tipped forward position chairs are for you. I think a lot of people don't realised that they're fixed.
Colour wise, GT silver with satin palladium wheels is my choice with black interior / red stitching.
Thought a lot about colors, love black cars but you lose detail, don't like white cars so thinking red of GT silver.
Here's hoping I get one

I ordered mine with the 14 way sport seats as I have the 918 buckets in my gt3rs and they give me back ache (must be getting old). They are a bit too upright for me and I'm planning on using the spyder as my daily drive so need a bit more comfort.
Having to wait until the middle of next week to pick her up, some delay on it being shipped.

I asked my dealer if they had one going spare and luck would have it, they had a GT4 buyer who was unsuccessful but which they had given him a spyder allocation too, but he decided not completed on. So I jumped in

I'm increasingly tempted by the 14 way sports seats. The old Spyder seemed to be 'demand sensitive' to the Sports Seats - do you think it will matter as much for this one?I ordered mine with the 14 way sport seats as I have the 918 buckets in my gt3rs and they give me back ache (must be getting old). If Mr Demon decides to trade in his GT4 to buy your spyder one day then yes. Otherwise, I'm not so sure. I reckon most are going for buckets so a "rare" sports seat-specced car may still be a desirable niche?Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
