Recently sold a tdi Bluemotion to intentionally replace / update to a mk 7. Had been thinking of going petrol as the car does very low annual miles so went for 1.4 tsi Bluemotion match ( wife's car really) but just loving it and at 58 mpg on a 300 mile trip last Sunday it's a winner .
They seem scarce just now re diesel scandal so can only recommend.

Good choice - for both you and the environment. I expect many new buyers will see the light and make the switch back to petrol. MPG may not be so good - particularly on long journeys - and CO2 often lower for the performance but nano particles and NO2 are a serious threat to health in polluted areas (most large towns and cities sadly). Petrol is so much cleaner.

My wife has one of these and i like the engine a lot. Whisper quiet on tick over. it is a nice change from my 1.6 octavia.

Diesel is still right for me because i do 25k a year, but I do hope more people are encouraged back to petrol cars, for many reasons.
