As a company, we'd like to sponsor local athletes but not sure how to do so.
I understand we're not able to give 'money' as it would be taxable and may affect their amateur status.
How do we go about providing kit, transport, physio, warm weather training, etc.?
Do they provide a list which we can fulfill? Vouchers of some kind?
Google's not been friendly as I'm only getting advice from the athlete's viewpoint.
No idea how to start. confused

Have you spoken to a local athletics club, they may already have sponsors who will be able to assist with starting out?

Not sure how amateur status is still relevant nowadays. I've never had to confirm I'm an "amateur" in any of my racing over the last 28 years and I've raced in the same events as very definite professional athletes.

A conversation with a local athletics club might help. I'd guess you and the athlete would need to agree what you'd provide and the terms under which you'd do so, your responsibilities, their responsibilities. England Athletics might have someone who is an expert in this - I can ask if you want?

Ask athlete what kit they want / need
Buy kit, get it printed with your logo
Give kit to athlete (with an agreed length of time they should wear it)

There are (outdated, overly restrictive IMO) rules on what logos are allowed on athlete's racing kit - one to watch out for.
