My near side window isn't working, it's time I took the door cards off and sorted said problem, there's power to the motor etc,,
I've tried the search engine
Can anyone point me in the right direction for a thread relating to late chimaera door card removal etc.
thanks Alun

Have you tried a "normal" Google search?

You will feel like James Herriot when you get your arm in the door past the elbow in the speaker hole.... You can't get the furthest nut off without doing so. Just force your arm in and it becomes reasonably easy, even for me!

second top tip - ratchet ended ring spanners make this kind of job (and the dash top nuts) easier

Third top tip - replace the nuts with wing nuts when reassembling makes removal much easier next time.

My nuts were replaced with wing nuts years ago - saved me a fortune in child maintenance payments over the years. whistle

It's not that bad
Manifolds are far worse as are engine mounts

I thought both those jobs were OK,,, aaaahhh, when I pulled mine the engine had been out only a few years before so everything was already cracked off,,,

The door cards,, been on my mind since day one? I always knew I'd have to do it one day and always bottled attempting it,,
Now it seems my window motor has siezed,,, removal and possible replacement of motor?
One job at a time, I'm sure I'll work it out,, I think I've found the cause of window motor issue, the rubber section that runs along the inner length of the door, at the bottom,, it's been stuck on to low compared to the offside and it pinches and closes up the water weep holes,,,, car got caught out in the rain tother day, sure enough, I pulled the rubber away and water gushing out, so possibly the doors been filing with water!

The problem I had on the passenger side was that one nut touched against the window motor body. I had to loosen its mounting bolts to allow room for the nut to come off. Like mine, the threads may well be rusty which can clean up once the card is off but you may find it hard to get the nuts off at the end of the stud.

I managed to do them without dropping the ring spanner too. I did that on the driver's side, a lot, and I'm left handed!

A pack of 10 x M6 wingnuts are less than £2 on ebay. 4 for each side plus a couple to drop! A bit more if you want stainless steel.
