I'm sure there's a lot more to the story and it would have been good to see video footage.

The final outcome is quite serious though and in my opinion he should be made an example of to hopefully make people think twice before reacting to other road users.

6 months behind bars IMO.

Woooohoooo! I get to be the first person to make the typical PH response. Smash the back window of my car with my baby in the backseat and the police would be the last of the cyclist's worries.

They forgot to mention the part where she said,

"Of course rather than take my child out the seat straight away, I whipped out my iPhone and took a picture first of my baby surrounded and covered in glass".

Unlikely to be intentional smashing of the window, they go easily if you tap them correctly in the corner.

However I'm glad everyone is safe and it's given Barnaby, Rhiannon and son, Jasper, something to discuss over their organic quinoa and chia seed salads.

First rampantly classist post. Almost the full house of typical PH responses.

I wonder how the resident PH militant cyclist gang are going to defend this cyclist's actions?

That's just awful, how can you get to 33 and still be learning to drive...

Exactly what I thought. Everything is an opportunity with a smart phone camera.

Meanwhile, some of us wonder what would rile the cyclist up to the point that he would commit such an act. Would be perhaps a useful tidbit of info. Top reporting from the BBC as usual.

Yep. Definitely the driver's fault. We know the cyclist did something horrendous, but we can speculate that the driver did something bad.

Or we can say that we don't know what the driver did. Emotional much?

Hadn't seen the bit about getting the bike lock out.
Absolute tt.

(And sorry, but I still think the names are beautifully stereotypical)

So you're saying it was likely to be an accident that he smashed the glass having made a conscious decision to use his bike lock to hit it?

Would that be a bit like saying it was an accident that someone's skull fractured when one picked up a hammer to give them a slap?

Honestly, the determination of people in this place to try to defend the indefensible is staggering.

The only thing that is certain is that the run-up to this climax is uncertain, but there is little doubt that the cyclist is a Grade A C*nt.

By asking why would any cyclist randomly smash a car window for no good reason, the BBC is second only to FOX biggrin

No idea what a militant cyclist is but I reckon cyclists will call a twonk a twonk, whether a driver, a cyclist, or both or a forum poster only able to think in a binary manner. ;-).
