Had an email today from silverstone announcing the dates as 29-31 July.... Are the Factory up for supporting an Ultima event again?

http://www.silverstoneclassic.com/

• 29-31 July dates announced for next summer’s three-day festival
• 2016 extravaganza will build on Silver Jubilee successes
• More unrivalled grids, track parades and car club displays

Its probably a bit early to hammer out the details of course, but was wondering what the factories thoughts were on next year? Stand over 2 days perhaps? Worth trying to sort an Ultima track parade on one of the dates? And of course some back up measures in case the weather is pish!!!
I for one had a great time and would travel the 700 odd miles again (albeit back up the road the next day rather than same day). I think more time would be great as I think I spoke to about 15% of the other owners there! Also at busy times the stand was devoid of owners so maybe for punters a few owners can agree to hang around and talk Ultima to punters or each other where there isnt a popular event on, IE a sleection of owners will be here 1-2pm to have a Q&a session if you are interested etc etc.
Just an idea to help support the factory in a what I thought is a brilliant day out and I for one would be interested in turning it into a fuller weekend!
Cheers.
Mark.

I will support that. I would definitely suggest a covered meeting point (could be few 'Eazi-Ups) and if possible on one of the banks where we can watch the track action.

Ye I'm up for this also for the camping the closest site is litch lake farm it's directly opposite the car clubs entrance . Possibility of a track parade would be good and also a gazebo . Would also suggest were on hard standing area again just encase it gets damp

I think it is a great idea.

Things to improve the experience:-

A covered area (tent, or at least gazebo) for cover from rain or scorching sun.
Some seats and maybe tables (not much room in an Ultima for folding chairs) and a lot of us are old farts.

I think the above would be almost essential.

Good to have's
Cold soft drinks (more for the hot weather, but talking is thirsty work).
A few brollies (Ultima branded) for talking beside cars if raining.

A track parade would be good, but there is a lot of waiting around and the cars are parked up ready to take to the track for quite a while (If you want to play at Silverstone, book a track day).

That's a start and I am trying to keep the costs sensible.

Going off my experiences from doing auto sport show / silverstone / good wood I would ask to be in same area as this year as its good acess but try to get pushed back into the right hand corner so to have a fence across the rear and the right side this allows putting a banner on each fence back to back also acting as a wind breaker with the gazebo in the corner using the fence to fix it to Only have 4 fold up chairs so gazebo isn't cluttered so usable iff raining . The fence could be used also to set up a picture wall any owners or builders invited to put up 1 a4 pic with there car in it factory supply a4 folder pouch (they could claim these back on ) tax ) Then get a list of cars and colours and allocate spaces by colour to make it uniform at each side of centre . Iff any food is supplied it could be a brown bag pack up allocated to drivers as a gesture . Also use the Sunday as the main day as more people would probably attend that day use the Saturday as a park and walk about day Hope some of these ideas are of use also promote the ultima owners forum and piston heads ultima page as a group network

Definitely up for this again. The weather killed the whole event last year but a covered area over two days with some track time would be great.

Any clubs track time at the classic has historically meant queuing up for an hour or so, then having a slow drive round the circuit, then back in.
Not a exciting drive that's for sure.

Bump for this topic folks. Early bird price's finish at the end of march it would seem. Do we have a club code again that we can book under?
