As far as i know, a 'winter tyre' option for the GT3 from a Porsche OPC is a set of 991 Turbo wheels and winter tyres. However, i don't want to go as far as getting full on winter tyres as the GT3 won't be going out in biblical weather, i was just wondering if what tyres the Turbo runs and whether they fit on the GT3 wheels? Also, if there's more than one N rated option, is there one more biased towards bad weather?

Cheers!

I think Pirelli PZero (not corsa) of some sort is approved for use between Cup tyre types and winters. FWIW I've seen Sottozero fitted to the GT3 wheels rather than the approved Turbo wheels.

Most importantly good effort using the car in winter 👍

On the tyres you may find a winter tyre will actually perform better in cold weather, not just snow/rain, than a summer tyre

Both the Pirelli Sottozero 2 and Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 are great winter tyres, and are available for the GT3 and are N rated. I don't believe there is an all season tyre available in the correct size for the 991.

A GT3 on winters will be a lot of fun..!

Thanks folks. Are the GT3s undersealed properly?

And I was warned about 'voiding the warranty' when I asked my OPC about having it protected....

Let's hope for no major snow this winter then! Guess a case of properly cleaning the underneath of the car frequently in that case.

Are you considering only N options or others?

If others, maybe consider the Conti 5P, which is the competitor to the Super Sport. I seem to recall the 5P can't quite match the SS in the dry but is better in the wet.

A few tyre tests are listed on the link below.

An interesting one is the 2015 test done by Motor in Australia, where they mixed up the track/road tyres a bit so there is the Cup2 against the 5P.

Am running my 7.2 3 on winters during the cold season. It's a lot of fun on snow going sideways biggrin.
