I'm sticking my silver 550 Maranello away for the winter, and have got as far as wash/tardis/clay/polish. I'm going to put some Prima Amigo on with the DA this weekend, however of the 3 waxes below, what would you recommend for the best shine?

The car isn't a garage queen as such in that it does 5k miles a year, but neither does it see salt/much rain - it's always garaged, and normally under a dust sheet. Therefore longevity and ultimate protection take a slight back seat to shine for this car.

Poorboys EX Sealant with carnuba, Chemical Guys Black Light, and Dodo Juice Light Fantastic.

I've got a really a bad habit of buying new detailing products before the old ones are anywhere near finished, so I'd like this time to at least try what I've already got!

They will all look the same, use whichever you've enjoyed applying/removing in the pastthumbup

Shine's all to do with the prep work not the wax.

Prima Amigo will fill any swirls nicely but for the best gloss and shine you'd be better off using your DA with a finishing pad with the likes of Carpro Reflect THEN apply the wax of your choice.

That'll always give better results.

Opinions vary so much much when it comes to this sort of question. Post this on detailing world to find out what I mean!! Scary.

Should you layer or should you not... Well, go for the finish that looks best in your eyes. The EX and Blacklight are described as sealants and / gloss enhancers not waxes, so some would say apply first then apply your DODO Juice wax as a surrender layer over the top. Some would ask what's the point once the sealant is in place. Others would add lists of their own preferred products and 25 pages later you would be none the wiser...

I personally, once the full prep is done as you have described like to apply a sealant / glaze (sometimes both) then a wax surrender layer of my choice which can be topped up when needed, but its your bag and you know what looks best on your ride bud. V Nice wheels by the way!!! smokin

Went for 1 coat of Blacklight using the DA, then a thicker coat applied by hand - did some googling and that approach was recommended. Going to put some of the Dodo Juice stuff on top, once it warms up a bit - it's 1 degree here in Aberdeenshire, a bit cold to be applying wax! Car is under it's cover so got all winter to put some wax on.

Next question - I'm assuming it's OK to put layers of wax on, up to a month apart? Car is protected from dust etc so no issues there. Just wondered whether wax 'deteriorated' in any way over time, without actually seeing daylight etc
