Changes at Arnage - Any news Lowdrag?

Just seen picture of the changes taking place at Arnage. Seems like to whole campsite is gone along with the spectator banking. I know there are changes regarding the public road layout. Surely the spectator banking will be re-created or what?

Just spoke to my mate what he as been told is that the camping was being opened up into the trees making a bigger camp site and a rearangement of the existing site. He will be up there in a day or so and he will ask his neighbors who are race fanatics and have camped at Arnage for forty years.
When met with the ACO in September, we asked them about any changes to the track, camping and spectator areas.The proposed changes at Arnage were mentioned.
Effectively, the local authority is replacing the Arnage crossroads with a roundabout in order to improve the safety of this junction throughout the year. The impact of this is that part of the bank and the entrance to both the Arnage campsite and viewing area have been removed.
There will still be a campsite and viewing area at Arnage and to compensate for the lost area a number of trees will be removed. We are not quite sure what viewing will be like right on the corner (leaning up against the tree), but hopefully it will still be good.
If we hear any more will certainly let you know.

I've seen a sketch map that shows the new road leaving the circuit after Indianapolis, thus cutting through the embankment, and the new roundabout where the entrance to the camp site was.
I thought the plan was for the new road to leave the circuit before Indianapolis where the road kinks right.

Subject of much discussion for several years, the curve of Arnage will indeed undergo a change this fall. The information was confirmed yesterday morning during a visit to the security teams of the Department of Sarthe during the closure of the track.
That's a roundabout that will come to replace this shift for everyday traffic, but without touching the bend itself. The portion of a Arnage is the last emblematic places of the track that has not been touched for decades. The roundabout will take place where now stands the Arnage car without condemning it. The connection between the bus and the circuit portion will take off a few meters after the Indianapolis curve to cross the existing parking. The section of road face arriving in Indianapolis, which also requires significant improvements in each edition, will also be diverted.
The will is especially not touch this mythical last corner of the circuit. The work therefore begin this fall and this new arrangement will be effective for the 2016 edition of Le Mans 24 Hours.

That's a real shame, Arnarge was one of those spots which hadn't changed and hadn't been commercialised, we always used to hangout there in the early hours with a few beers, watching the cars slide in the rain and the discs glowing red as they brake for the 90 degree corner. Another bit of history lost.

Like the new banking at Tertre Rouge I'm sure it'll be a very good place to watch the racing, good views, bright, well lit, crumbling steps gone, no need to check your jabs are up to date before walking through the tunnel anymore. For people going for the first time it'll be great, for those who remember the scruffy charms of how it was it'll be very sad.

Sad that Arnage will be (mostly) gone, but Indy sounds interesting - does anyone know if it will just be further up on the same side as the old Arnage viewing area, or on the infield looking back towards mulsanne corner?Must admit, I'm quite devastated by the news that the viewing area at Arnage has, by the sounds of it, gone. Not to be able, ever again, to squeeze into the crowd, and edge closer to the prime area, next to the trees and 'leccy boxes, is up-setting, to say the least.
Are we saying that the banking will now be further up the track, more in line with the indy left hand/run off area, and any access to the proper right-hander of the Arnage corner, has gone ?
