Mini 1 . cold heater no coolant pressure and fan always on

Hi
My daughters Mini 1 1400cc 2008.
rad fan comes on as soon as I turn the key and stays on for 10 mins even if we don't start it. header tank is at full mark.
When warm there is no header tank pressure and heater is luke warm.
no visible water in oil on stick 0r mayo on rocker cover.

Seems to me like there is just no coolant circulation, clearly no pressure at all.

Do you have any thoughts please ?

Sounds like you have an air pocket.

What's the story on this car, has it just had a water pump, or other coolant work, or has it been running fine,and just started this marlarky?

Sounds like it could be the thermostat sensor, common issue at the minute!

Car has run fine and had services for 2 years. Worked fine on Thursday failed on Friday, no water pump or anything.

Hi,

I had this problem on my 2001 Cooper and it turned out to be a warped radiator cap.

Picked one up from Euro Car Parts for around £16.

Unfortunately I replaced the engine cooling fan, drained the coolant etc and everything before the cheap fix! Hope this fixes it for you too.
