Guys

This isn't something I have done before. I have been told that the likes of Demon Tweeks and GPR offer a discount at the Autosport show on helmets and flame resistant overalls? A) is this the case? and B) is any discount worth attending on the strength of the discount alone?

thanks

It quite often is the case, but I've always found that if you contact the supplier prior to the show and ask if they will extend any discount for orders outside of the show, they usually will.

Yes, its true that you can usually pick up stuff at a discount, but whether its worth going just for that I'm not sure. Depends if you're having to pay to get in!

Chris.

Normally quite good discounts can be negotiated at the show, but many won't honour the price after the show has ended - you need to place an order there and then.

If you are buying a helmet and suit, I would think you can negotiate a saving more than the cost of the ticket (that is to say, more then if you just phoned them up or negotiated a discount in the shops). It's also a good day out.

In the past I've bought a helmet and on a separate occasion a hans device, from memory I got around 15-20% off

I got helmet , suit, boots and gloves for £500 from Playskool at Autosport in Jan this year. Suit still hasn't turned up though they have provided me one until that one arrives, that reminds me I haven't phoned them for a while .....

Presumably you could order at the show if discounts are worth it, and they post the goods out ?

For those who cant carry a pile of stuff away with them

That's how Demon Tweaks always do it - saves stocking at the show. It normally takes a few days/a week to turn up.
