I'm thinking of treating myself to a Land Rover Approved Used L322, it would probably be a 2011 TDV8 with around 50k miles. The 2 year warranty from Land Rover is a definite plus point but is there anything I should be looking out for?

Rear wheelarch inner lip and upper tailgate corrosion are common occurrences, so check carefully.

Many recommend the diff oils are replaced, so it would be worthwhile getting the dealer to do this.

A thorough check to make sure everything works and to get any defects rectified, Not all dealers are scrupulous with their preparation.

If your model has rear seat entertainment, make sure the headphones are present and the luggage nets are in place. Many go missing.

The LR warranty is superb, by the way.

Around a month or so ago we took the plunge! 2012 Autobiography. Low miles and approved used.

I am about to drive to work and looking forward to getting in it. Love driving it. it wafts around and takes off (for its size) if required. An utter joy to be in.

Haven't driven the Porsche in anger for a month since picking it up. awesome cars. stupidly big and over the top but what fun....

Approved used for me or nothing; no issues, well prepped and clean car. Peace of mind is a must for these beasts I would suggest.

Go on; you know you want to..... beer

Get the gearbox oil changed, plus the filter. ZF recommend 50-75k for oil changes, i would urge sooner than later.

Change the oil regularly, the turbo's don't like dirty oil.

Make sure the battery and alternator is in good order.

Otherwise, if the history is good, the condition is good. Go for it.

Has she had a ride in one? My Mrs always wanted one; as did I! AS above, we pulled the trigger 4 weeks or so ago and she thinks it is massive and wont drive it. (We still have a Disco and had an old Classic RR some years ago)

She absolutely loves being driven around in it though.....

Good Luck!

Thanks, she hasn't been in a L322, but has been out in a 4-door Classic in the past. Fortunately she isn't intimidated by large cars (except in multi-storey car parks) - she drives an XC60 herself.

2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue from Parks in Ayr. Black outside and inside (I prefer the look of the Tan or Sand interiors, but black is more practical for a scruffy bugger like me!).
It has the remote pre-heating option which should be useful up here in Scotland, but with our recent weather the 700mm wading depth is probably its most useful feature...
Thanks for the tip on tailgate corrosion - this definitely had it (being rectified by the dealer) but otherwise everything was spot on.

currently looking at a 2012 Westminster mid 50s miles - any lessons learned I should be aware of?

Yes - check everything! The warranty is great but in my experience the dealers don't really do the checks they are supposed to for the Approved Used cars, they then use warranty claims to fix the problems that they should have corrected themselves before delivery.....
My car was delivered with non-functional screen washers (despite being MOT'ed 2 days before delivery). They were so badly blocked that they had to be replaced. My car was also delivered without the second key and the parcel shelf - the dealer promised them in a few days, but it took them 2 months! If I was buying it again I would refuse to pay for the car until everything is right - I bet it wouldn't have taken them 2 months to sort out a second key and a parcel shelf if the sale depended upon it....
Oh, I'm also pretty sure that it was delivered with air-con that didn't work but I didn't test it for a few weeks as it has been pretty cold since I bought the car.

It's a great car, though! Just a pity the dealer I used has been very poor.
