water in the battery tray mk2

I've got a mk2

Battery is on it's way out so I pulled it out tonight to try and charge it a bit

The battery tray has about 1cm of standing water in it

I know the weather has been awful lately, but I have in idea where it's getting in

Any ideas?

The seal on the hole for the aerial is leaking?

Aerial is on the other side

Carpet seemed dry too

Is it just in the tray? Is the carpet damp? Condensation on the lid. Boot lid seals do leak occasionally. Other possibility is run off from blocked roof drains but I'd expect dampness in the cabin too.

I had a feel around under the hardtop fixing bolts and one seemed wet. That could be condensation, but I will put some sealant around there and see if it helps

The seal around the rear lights is a common place for leaks.
