New sub-forum for clothes, grooming, shoes, fashion etc
Discussion
I don't think we should.
Although it depends on the aims of the forum. If it's meant to be a "motoring" forum, then no.
As having a new forum section for non motoring stuff, simply dilutes the overall forums motoring content. It will also potentially attract new members who are not interesting in motoring at all. Which then runs the risk of making motoring topics less worthwhile, as you get more and more non "Piston Head" type people commenting in them.
There are plenty of other places on the internet to discuss other topics. A specialised forum shouldn't try and cater for everything. Because it then isn't a specialised forum.

I think you've completely and utterly missed the point of modern PH. A simple look in the subforums of P+P will put you right.Although it depends on the aims of the forum. If it's meant to be a "motoring" forum, then no.

Not that I give a st about a clothes subforum, my reply was tongue in cheek.

I think I've nailed the point completely. PH is full of non motoring people these days, it's even evident in General Gassing, where it's all talk about leasing, diesel rep mobiles and cyclists vs motorist threads. Not that I give a st about a clothes subforum, my reply was tongue in cheek.
The wider PH community isn't as good as it once was and I'm not even a proper 'long' term member. Adding more and more chuff that had nothing to do with motoring only makes it worse.

You'll never win though, more sub forums = wider audience = bigger potential for flogging ads = probably gunna happen. The wider PH community isn't as good as it once was and I'm not even a proper 'long' term member. It's not just a motoring forum by any means. Here are some of the sub-forums we have already:Although it depends on the aims of the forum. If it's meant to be a "motoring" forum, then no.

By adding a "Matters of vanity" forum isn't going to dilute the motoring content. It just means that chat about hair cuts / shoes / fashion / etc etc don't end up in the Lounge.

Let's not run away with things now.. I need to justify its creation by looking through recent posts to see if there is enough content to populate one if we were to go ahead.
Brilliant. What shall we call it? "Clothes, shoes style and fashion"?
You don't want to put off people just asking about where to get new wellies or fleeces by making it sound too Dandy and sartorial.
