Hi Folks, anyone know the current rules on this and if you now have to stay out of the country now before you can re-enter? Can't seem to find a final answer on if you can re-enter on the same day?

I've read that for those with Visa on Arrival if you leave on the 90th Day you have to stay out for 90 days, but if you exit on the 89th day you can come straight back in! All seems a bit random...

Cheers

I think the law has changed now, it was announced as 90 days stay then 90 days wait before re-entry. I've now heard it's 90 days, re-enter on same day , but this might not apply at the Oman crossing!

For the Oman crossing, you can go out and come back on the same day; my wife's colleagues are doing this currently as they wait for their residencies to be processed. The length of your tourist visa entitlement seems to vary dependant on your passport.

For UK citizens, the visa period is 30 days, but it is possible to extend this for 'emergencies', whereby it rolls over another 30 days. You will likely need a PRO for this, however.

I took a friend to do this at the weekend. Just the same as it always was:

Drive out of Dubai, get a stamp (you don't have to get one if you have a residence visa and are the driver).
Drive to the Oman bit
Get stamped there
Go to the loo
Do it all in reverse to Dubai
Go for lunch at the Hatta Fort Hotel
Head back to Dubai with a shiny new stamp

I heard the road to Hatta is closed at the moment and you have to do a detour?

I'm doing the road from Dhahran to Bahrain this afternoon for my visa run.

Will definitely be staying overnight, rather than the immediate U turn.

Might even have a pint of beer....

Yep. Ended up going the long way round toward Fuj then up through the mountains that way.
