Hi All

I am intending paying a visit to Woolies Trimmers in Peterborough tomorrow (Wednesday 25th Nov) to get some replacement trim for my S3 wheel arches.

I have no idea what the cost is (or even if they have any) but I was wondering if anyone else was in need of any. I can either simply share the part number and costs if my mission is a success and people can then contact Woolies directly or if there are people that are definitely wanting some I can buy extra while I am there and can post it out on payment by BACS. But commitment needs to be 'firm' and obviously I don't know what the cost is as yet, as would not want to be left with meters of trim that I don't need!

The bit of trim I am talking about is the strip that runs across the top of and around the wheel arch as shown in the attached photo.

Hi Martin
I am in the middle of 'doing up' the S so would be glad to take enough trim for both sides. If you send me the details I'll get the payment out to you.
By the way, when you fitted the rocker covers did you have to fit a modified bracket for the alternator?
Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave

Okay I'll get enough for you as well if they have any and will message you tomorrow.

Yes I did have to modify the alternator bracket.
The silver one on the left of the photo is post modification, the red one on the right is an original.

I bought a 'spare' bracket in case I screwed my original up when doing the mods. In the end I did not need it and so I am now selling the 'spare' unmodified red one (£30).

Well I had a successful jolly outing in the S3 to Woolies today and got some new wheel arch trim.

All fitted and just the job.

Cost is by the metre and is a very reasonable £3.00/m
You could just get away with 1m (50cm per wheel arch) but I bought 1.5m as better to be safe than sorry for the sake of a couple of quid.

Dave I got you a 1.5m length as well and its ready to post, will private message you with postage options and my Bank details for BACS transfer.

So if anyone else wants to get some this is what you need:
Woolies Part Number: 266
Woolies Description: PVC Snappon with Sponge Bead 16mm Dia. (Page 4 of their Yellow 21st Edition Catalogue)
Woolies Price: £3.00 per metre (inc. VAT)
Woolies Tel: (01778) 347347

Andy

Mine seems to be stuck on like poop to the proverbial blanket... Don't think it'll come off in a hurry. With a 1.5m length I have a bit spare that should do one more wheel arch should I lose one!

Cheers
Martin

Good work, I've just bought a set of used S3 arches for my S1, but need some new rubber. Thanks.

No problem Richard - I have gained a great deal the last couple of months from this forum so glad to be able to post something that others may be able to benefit from... Thumbs up S Series massive!
