You an get the HD version of Ico and SoC with PlayStation Now. I played a bit of Ico with the free trial.

Won't it be like bumping into an old girlfriend and realising she's actually a bit of a moose?

These games were great at the time but now they will look rubbish.

Like the aforementioned old flame, I predict 5 minutes of nostalgia followed by an empty feeling of disappointment.

There really don't seem to be that many games from the PS2 era worth looking back on.

TO be honest, I still have my PS2 and all the games I"d want to play. Maybe GT4 as it was always better than 5 and 6.

I don't really know why I'm raving, I still have my PS2 and all it's games, but I would like to play them without having to unpack it each time (can't keep them out due to space issues). I always enjoy the old games and recently re-completed Gran Turismo 1. Only issue I found was that I could not play for as long as I used to as I've been treated to such lovely improvements in graphics they do show their age.

On the gameplay front though I wouldn't say things have come on leaps and bounds, although my penchant for racing games might make my view abit narrow-minded. However compare GTA: San Andreas to GTAV and its the details that you miss on the old one with the city feeling much more 'alive' now (Farcry also demonstrates this nicely, although that's just 3 to 4).
It's a shame that truely remastered games isn't really a profitable market, things like Shadow of the Colossus, GTA: Vice City, The Getaway with next gen detail/graphics but the original plot would be amazing.

Was that the Triad car? Didn't the Yardies have a Rover with some crazy air horn too?

I remember one mission you were in some garage / lockup, and when you left there was a white Exige IIRC, and a Cerbera in the bosses house in Mayfair?

Such a cool game, used to love just driving around London is crappy everyday cars and getting chased by Police in Astras laugh

laugh

yeah the hot-fuzz style astra police chases were the one! Blue Rover SD1 for the Yardies, Triads had Hondas and the GTR was hidden in a park near the Mall?

The Getaway was a great game and I do remember the purple (?) Cerbera.

Before I had my PS4 I downloaded Midnight Club II on PC for a bit of nostalgia and played through the entire campaign without getting bored. If you can forgive the graphics, games with good gameplay are timeless.
