I don't know you personally but if it is a scam you've been playing the long game because you've kept up the charade of being an owner for ages!

Hi, I'm sure you're aware, but your car appeared in the PH classifieds for a brief period on Sunday priced at £9,150, not sure what relevance this might have, but it did seem a bit odd to me at the time, since then your advert has not appeared

Edit, just seen your last post, that would explain it

Hi Gary I've just read this with the initial post deleted. What's going on? I'll generously pay over the asking price at £9500 for your car but I'm guessing that's not the case?

All be careful me and another guy have been the victims of a scammer named Allen Cooper, I was sent an email from the other guy who was scammed and phoned this guy and asked questions about the car and said things like is it green he said no it turquoise and hard to explain unless you see it I asked if I could come and check it out then it got interesting to say the least, I will leave at there but he said he has my pass word all happy and put the phone down on me

I am going to phone pistonheads in the morning and find out what's going on as the advert was changed to a silly price and not by me

Mr McDuff you should really check before putting up threads about me I have been on here longer than most and well known in the TVR community for good and bad reasons

Gary, I think Jamie's comment was tongue in cheek.

If it was tongue in check I apologise as I have been messed about by so many over the last few months then this scam comes along and spent the last few days of playing email ping pong with a guy who I thought was another messer who I think is for real, maybe Jamie should have put an smiley up with a tongue in check face or a wink maybe just bad timing on his part

What anoys me is the car is a good one as I have spent a blooming fortune on it and want it to go to a good home had the can 16 years now

Never mind but I am phoning pistonhesds in the morning as they need to find out what the hell is going on by letting adverts be hacked

I feel sorry for the guy who contacted me thinking he was getting a Well sorted Cerb for £9000

Gary just phone this guy back up and blow a vuvuzela down the phone. Should put him off being naughty for a while.

And if you have his email address and phone number go register on plenty of adult entertainment sites or especially anywhere you Need to enter a number, so hes bombarded by nuisance calls.

It was indeed! You really have been here for ages. Sorry for the lack of smiley which would have cleared things up in retrospect. So what's actually happened to the advert? If for example I rang up the redirect number on your advert about your car would I find myself talking to someone else who's interfered with the redirect? Or is it just some joker interfering with details on the ad (seems the price was changed to £9k?)

Yes advert has been changed by some joker and he sends you email asking for a 30% deposit upfront sounds like some foreign guy when you phone him, I asked some really stupid question like does it have cast iron radiator and could I come and have look then it went all quite then I gave him some abuse down the phone and he admitted he hacked the advert and cheeky fecker said all happy and put phone down 😡
