Odd thing to want to do. I write these things for a living and even to me the old BR Manual is only of curiosity value. Still, takes all sorts.

That is a really odd thing to want to recreate, however at the same time I felt myself wanting to get a copy......

I seem to recall something similar appearing as a pull-out in each monthly issue of "Rail News".

1965 - 1994? Will there be pictures of Deltics? I hope so.

You'd have liked the Deltic workshop manuals they had for sale up at the Keighley & Worth Valley when I was last there (about 11 years ago). Very nicely illustrated, like a car workshop manual from the same era but three big thick volumes, IIRC.

The Napier Deltic engine was a step too far for the rail industry's approach to maintenance and repair, but what an engine and a magnificent locomotive.

Some extracts from Napier Deltic manuals online here: http://pigeonsnest.co.uk/stuff/deltic/deltic.html The rest of the website has some interest but is also controversial.

Edit: to add, the page I linked to above is safe for work, some of the other pages on the website probably aren't.
