Although the main website is down you can still read about the filters here

http://homepages.plus.net/ashleyhooks/V8F%20ppt%20...

Sadly David has had health issues recently, but he has still supplied me and couple of other Cerb owners, so you may need to be patient when contacting him. He may contribute to this thread in which case you will have an easy way to contact him, otherwise PM me and I will share his email, but I do not feel comfortable posting it on a public forum.

Mann filters for me. They must be good as Dan Taylor uses them.

Lots of choices at Rimmer Brothers.

I fit Bosch oil filters wherever possible - made by Guttmann. Euro Car Parts sell them at very competitive prices.

About £17 last time I bought one.
Access is quite tight on as serp and less so on a pre serp. I've got one and the oil colour certainly stays cleaner for longer so must be working better. On my second now.
Best to e-mail him direct or keep an eye out on e-bay.

I used one last year and have to agree, it certainly did keep the oil noticeably cleaner.

The V8F filter is about 50% longer than the standard LR item (ERR3340 I think it is). Just cause its branded its probably still made in China to a price - Lucas is a case in point.

I believe the V8F one is a Cummings Fleetguard unit- these are the dogs nuts filtration wise, the oil remains much cleaner for longer- but I think space is and issue on the TVR chassis. I think they are in the £20 region.

Has to be Wix, just read the spec. for them compared to others along with the price.

You are absolutely right, check the many Fleetguard YouTube videos and webpages dedicated to oil filters and you will instantly see the difference in construction quality. You will need to find Used Oil Analysis reports to confirm their effectiveness, nothing else really counts.

Even if you can't bring yourself to pay an extra tenner for an oil filter, do yourself a favour and give Fram a wide birth.

Space can be an issue as you can see on a Cerb, but if you have room don't waste it.

The last e-mail I had from David was :
slicebrown@hotmail.co.uk
Not sure if it's still valid.

I know he originally did trials on about 4 cars, one of which was a Cerbera, and has over 20 years in the filtration industry.

Cheers guys. Loooks like these filters are the ones to go for....with a tight squeeze!

I'm in cheshire and see a few Fleetguard suppliers about so I'll give them a try.

I don't suppose anyone has a part number for this Fleet Guard 'uber' filter? Ive tried my local supplier and he has no idea. I gave him the 8990 number which he said not a valid Fleet Guard number.

It is made for David Brown by Fleetguard, it has his company logos and branding, it is not available elsewhere.
