Where in Yorkshire can I buy racewear i..e Helmet, Racesuit, Gloves, shoes etc

Plenty of online shops with bases at places like Brands, Silverstone etc, but can't find anything in this area where I can actually try on the stuff.

I think you are going to struggle on this one if you won't go beyond Yorkshire's borders.laugh

Motoscope at Northallerton keep a bit of stock as far as I know.

If I've wanted some kit I've occasionally made the journey across to Wrexham.

The other option is make a day of it and go to a show, Autosport or if karting is your thing, kartmania (next weekend). I've found that's a good way to try out various manufacturers kit to see what suits/fits the best, there's usually a bit of haggle room as well.

Yup, nowhere really here.

I usually use a combination of GPR, Rallynutz and Demon Tweeks.

All offer a sensible returns policy.

Obviously helmet is the main thing to get the correct fit.

As everyone says the Autosport show is the place for this and good deals. You can try on and order there then have delivered to you afterwards.

When I needed to buy stuff, I've just bitten the bullet and driven to Demon Tweaks. At least you can stop for lunch in Chester on the way back.

I'd suggest doing Autosport too. I always tend to try stuff on at different events I'm at in the US and then order later online rather than carrying stuff home. But 100% do make sure that the helmet you buy is absolutely right for you. I've found that some shells would break my nose in even a mild frontal impact even where other designs from the same manufacturer are not a problem for me (and I've not even got a big konk). The other thing you may have a problem is a head/neck restraint as you really do need to try it in place in your seat to see if it is right for you.

I've never enquired to see if they have a shop but Co Durham may be closer than Wrexham - http://www.plays-kool.co.uk/
