Day 2.

I wonder how much effort the MotoGP bikes are putting in. The fastest Kawasakis of Sykes and Rea aren't far off the MotoGP times. Colder than the jerez round.

Great to see Nicky up there on the Harnda, please Camier is going ok too.

Redding - wow, very impressive time, as per his capability, even on the much improved GP15.

Blimey...back in the day (08) Hayden was doing 38's and Pedrosa was doing 40's, you'd think Moto GP would have moved on a bit...

Even more surprising Bayliss's Phillip Island superpole time (08) 1'31.493 compared to Rossi's 2015 Qualifying time 1'31.471. 1'30.011 for Lorenzo.

New Michelin tyres in MotoGP are probably the reason.

Any recent resurfacing done ? It had been done in 2009 and was considered smoother , few bumps sorted, but more abrasive, things change in time with use ....

Interesting read. Suggesting Honda's focus solely on their factory effort may cost them at the start of next season, although they'll catch up.

Redding unofficially fastest.

For all those critics of Crutchlow, it's good to see that the evidence mounts the Honda is a complete pain to ride. However he really should have stuck with Ducati if this trend continues!

Probably not when he set that time I would guess, pillions always slow you down a bit

I really hope Ducati can bring the fight to eh races next year - from start to finish in 2016 and throughout the race. It would be nice to have a Ducati on the top step more than once.

I can't see it.

This year they used those super soft tyres in qualy that got them further up the grid, during the races they'd start well then fall away as the race progressed.

2016 they won't have the super soft advantage in qualy.

Currently Ducati look like the best sorted bike out there from the tests.

They're used to the control ECU because they've been using it already in their satellite teams, the Ducati does that have an issue with corner exit and the new tyres are making it even better, their engine is less aggressive than the Honda and Redding was fastest at Jerez.

Whilst I don't forecast total dominance, we've yet to see Yamaha really put in the same distance, but clearly Honda haven't sorted their issues and are behind Ducati right now, that's not even the full factory boys that are faster than Marquez in unofficial Jerez timing - I appreciate it is r resting, add caveats.

But you've already written them off based on last year's rules, which is kinda the point to why they did what they did.... To get the development time they needed, which Honda would really like right now. Ducati look very good right now.

Which is what you dismissed with your first answer.... But to be fair, I hardly see how your responses are linked.

None of here are in anyway involved in gp, therefore we only see the test data the team's release.

We have no idea what there actually testing and certain teams aren't using transponders so we have no idea as to there speed.

Let's see after the 2nd race of 2016 and then we'll see how much the Ducati team have progressed.
