6 bar grill and lowered number plate?
Discussion
Morning all.
This is by far the most useful forum I've ever been on. What a knowledgeable bunch you all are.
A week in and I couldn't be happier with my v8v.
A quick one for you all. How much does it cost to change an 8 bar to a 6 bar grill and also I have seen some examples with the number plate lowered to expose more of the grill which I think looks great, any ideas how much this would cost as well? Lastly I am down in Surrey, is there anyone near by that would do this for me?
Thanks a lot.

In terms of cost - peanuts !!!Take the plinth off yourself (dead easy job), 3/4 size numberplate and a couple of sticky pads - simples
6 bar grilles from Aston are about £500, I bought second hand carbon edition black one for about £300, they do come up for sale occasionally.
You should be able to sell your old one for around £250. Worthwhile upgrade.
Ditch the plate plinth now!
Easy...

In terms of cost - peanuts !!!You do live well your lordship. I can imagine that you might say, I don't worry about such costs. Finding somebody to trim that creeper on the front wall of my small house, is more of a worry to me. -

When I bought the shiney 6 bar grill from Aston a couple of months ago it retailed at 571+vat.
Easy to fit and the plate plinth comes off easy enough. Just drill new holes in the plate and use the holes already in the bumper.

Very good. Looks perfect.
Perhaps an illusion, but how do you exit your car when in the garage?

It's tight, there's about a 1.5ft where the pillar is.
Goodness.
I expect you already have soft carpet on the wall, where the car door opens.
No clothes with buttons, zips or studs, and possibly just lettuce for lunch as well. -
I would dream up a platform roller floor system, the type that are in the back of Eddie Stobart's biomass lorries.
Many of my ideas though, take years to become reality.

Here you are Tim.
A bright finish six bar grille, and lowered number plate to reveal the entire grille.
The plate is attached using sticky pads.
My beauty is shown parked outside a famous front door.
Thanks you Dewi (solid welsh name, I hail from cowbridge).
This exactly the look I want to achieve. It looks fantastic.
While on my way to buy the relevant tools and stickies I was greeted with and engine warning light and a prompt to get an emissions service. So the number plate will have to wait for another time.
Thank you all for your help here. Kind as ever.

Looks great - you seem to have forgotten to get the plate printed though A bright finish six bar grille, and lowered number plate to reveal the entire grille.

I was going to look to see if there was any way to drop the plate holder down, so still keep it on there for the impact protection, but move it so you can see the whole grill, looks like it's a funny shape though so not sure that's possible.

Common issue, which may go away with a good blast or cleared by yourself via an OBD reader. There are a number of threads on here just quote "emissions service needed"A bright finish six bar grille, and lowered number plate to reveal the entire grille.

I know Cowbridge. In fact our last remaining family member to still reside in Wales, is living there. Many years ago, her husband wrote the book called, 'The Cowbridge Story'.
