My neighbours have bought a new Router from Maplins. Its a TP link Archer D2.

They plugged it all in, following the instructions and everything worked fine. That is until the phone rang. Its an ADSL modem I think and when the phone is in use, the internet goes down.
Is this something to do with BRIDGE mode?

How can I fix this for them?

Thanks.

Sounds like they haven't used a filter, or haven't used it correctly.

Do you have an ADSL filter on the router?

If there are filters fitted and the modem is being run off an extension phone socket it might be worth trying it in the master socket in case the extension has been mis-wired.

This has nothing to do with bridge mode
Birdge mode is when you have an existing router, and want to use this one purely as a modem

as already mentioned, chances are they are not using a microfilter

Thanks PH'ers. All done.
The router only works in the Master socket with a filter and each individual phone connected the wall required a in line filter.
I took over some spare SKY filters I had kicking about.

Router only working in master socket is a nightmare as thiers is in the living room!

But at least its all working.

Thanks!
