The code should be on the wing panel under the bonnet - not much help if you don't have access though. The absence of badges, pinstripes and other bits might suggest that it's been repainted, perhaps not in an original colour.

Hi mate...As Number 7 say's...There should be a TVR name plate on the left inner wing, It has the engine number, Chassis number and body code, Oh and the most important bit TVR Engineering Blackpool....Mine was FER190 Rosso de chario on Delilah...(Ferrari red)...smile

You can see what it looks like on my inner wing on Poppy...

That a metallic isn't it? Guessing in 1984 these things didn't have any flake in them?

For originality's sake as well as ease of touch up etc. in future, I'm thinking I will avoid metallics, although I am tempted when I look the photos!

Not metallic. There is a picture in my profile. I am almost sure that's the name of the colour but I can't check because the paperwork is in the car at my TVR dude's place

Shhh...Not too loud she might hear you...Wherever she is....

Poppy is gun metal grey and has some fleck in the paint which at a certain angle looks silver..

Thanks, I've picked a 2 pack Alfa Red that won't look too light under full sun.

And my 350i FHC, and (in theory) my son's Tasmin. Seems this was a common one, and it is an excellent red.
