HI All,

As the rain has now washed away the wonderful Dealers polish which does a great job of hiding minor scratches, scuffs and stone chips - I need to find a good Valet shop that can also fix some of those paint chips and scuffs - as well as give it a tiptop clean before our Winter fully arrives.

Do any of you have knowledge of a Valet shop that can do all these things ?

Thank you in advance ...

Not sure about the stone chip side of the house but I've always had good service from Chris and his team at Basingstoke Valeting Centre - www.basingstokevaleting.co.uk
around 5 minutes off M3J6.

I use Calverts Car Cleaning (in fact he clay barred, machine polished and Dodo Juiced my DB9 on Wednesday last week):

Great guy, very reasonable prices - £120 for the above and I'm a stickler for quality (I will do all my own valeting but I wont attempt machine polishing as too many scare stories and he reached my standard).

Based in Dunstable but you could hit Milton Keynes whilst your P&J is being beautified.

£120 to wash, clay, machine polish (presumably a single stage). If that's the case, then I'd take your car to him as soon as possible, because he will be out of business soon charging that little. Either that or he is a valeter who happens to give cars "a quick mop". I would never trust someone with my car who charged as little as that. I'm not just talking about the guy you suggested, but anyone.

Edit: Looking at his website, you probably got a an "exterior car clean plus" which applys a pre wax cleaner via a machine polisher, as the proper enhancement details start from £250, which is still cheap. So, not a machine polish as such, unless you know him really well and you got a massive discount.

Andy, let me know where you live and i will see who i can suggest. If its just someone to detail the car and make it look better, then i can suggest a few people (including myself), but if you want the car painting too, then the list gets much smaller.

Tony's £10 wash'n'wax is fine for my DB4 once a month. Have to be careful the jetwash doesn't bend the aluminium panels though, spray at an angle not straight on. I think the last time the interior was cleaned was 1985 and that was with dustpan and brush not a Qtip and fancy potions
