Would you want a left hand drive bike in the UK?
(Yes I know the headlight may throw to the wrong side. It was a poor attempt at humour. Sorry)
I was expecting it earlier tbh. (Yes I know the headlight may throw to the wrong side. It was a poor attempt at humour. Sorry)
Any decent mechanic should be able to sort this one for you though.

And do bike lights throw their beam to the left or right?? Never noticed tbh
For the last four years I have religiously taped up my LHD headlamp to get it through it's MOT. I have had to blag my way through three of them as its still not technically legal, as it's a bd to get it lined up.I could of just bought a RHD lamp four years ago, but that would have been sensible, and I'm a fking idiot.

Also, am I the only one who thought the Africa Twin would cost a lot more???
Good old Homda.
He makes good bikes, Homda.Good old Homda.
I don't know why whingers are whinging about the price as it is cheapier than the Suzuki by a few hundy and a whopping four grand less than the bee emm trouble you!
And if there's significant savings to be had, why not buy from the EU and ride it home??
If Honda UK realise they're taking the piss and people are traverlling to save 2k+ maybe they'll see the light and align their MSRP's with the continent.
What's a flight to Germany?? 50 Quid?? Surely worth it to save 2 or 3k??

I really don't see why you're so aggrieved about this. If you account for the ABS the price difference is easily taken up by the dealer network costs, UK specific part costs, and presumably the initial costs for selling the bike in the UK in the first place. (It would seem sensible set up costs for UK sales were met by the UK Honda arm, and consumer, rather than the whole of big red).
Better still, if £1,500 still seems unpalatable, as said just go to Europe and bring one back. No one is stopping you.

Pricing looked reasonable to me...
Bound to be some offers at round £10k next year...
New V-Strom 1000's are making about £8,500 at the minute...

The Twin should easily hold its money over the V-Strom in the long run...

Not that long ago thee used to be a big price differential between UK and rest of the world bike prices, which led to a lot of grey imports, and not just of second hand Japanese bikes, there was a dealer near me selling a huge range of brand new bikes. That seemed to have all died out as prices equalised, but I guess without the grey importers UK prices are creeping up again.
The pound seems to be getting stronger and stronger against the Euro at the moment. I'm weekly commuting from Holland, perhaps I should start buying a new bike every week and riding it back to the UK
