Hello all.

I was wondering if someone could recommend Porsche servicing in the North West, the closer to Preston the better. I did a forum search but the posts were from a few years ago so I thought I would start a new thread for fresh opinions.

Thanks

Depending on the Porsche, obviously, but look hard at Hartech, especially if you have an older model.

It's a Cayman with 100,000 on the clock.

I would never trust a Porsche centre again because they tried to rip me off for £2000 in last year's MOT, hence why I am looking for somewhere else for servicing, (it was Leeds, not Bolton).

They tried telling me I needed a new steering rack to pass the MOT. No I'm not joking. Obviously I pulled it out of there, took it elsewhere and it passed no problem. It had its MOT for this year last week and sailed through again with no advisories.

I even took it for a second opinion to Revolution Porsche in Brighouse (I don't live around there though anymore) and they described needing a new steering rack as "complete bullst".

In my experience, the Porsche centre in Leeds will give you a brand new car to drive around in while they do the service/MOT, they work in a sparkling clean glass facility and have numerous people sat around taking calls to book more work. Someone needs to pay for all that and they obviously thought I would contribute. They were wrong.

I've used Jasmine porsche on a few occasions. Good guys, reasonable pricing. tel: 01282 69 71 71. they are 2 mins. off junction 12 M65. They also hold an annual open night, loads of owners and cars there.

Cath Burrows knows Boxsters inside out and she is the cheapest option.

Her premises are simple though, theres no bull!

Depends what you want.

Highly recommended.

Hi

Not in the north west, but a trip across the northern Pennines might be worth considering to get to these guys for price and service, they open Saturday mornings too.

http://www.pecarspecialists.co.uk/services/porsche...

I initially used them for an out of cycle oil and filter change on my Cayman S, £120 including VAT. They went much further than this though and did a full diagnostic check, over rev history, condition check etc etc whilst we were waiting for the oil to drain. I bet an OPC would charge a pretty penny for this.

I've also had the rear discs and pads changed. All OEM parts, brake damper and wear sensors for £348 VAT inclusive. The transmission oil change was only £54 at the same time.

Don't expect fancy coffee and marble floors, but these guys are excellent. They always welcome you to take a look around/under your car.

Can't recommend them enough, they'll be my go to place for all future work.

James.

You asked for options close to Preston. Porsche Centre Bolton are reasonably close to Preston. I know many people who trust them to look after their car. They looked after mine when I was bound to the network because of warranty regs. Always go out of their way to offer the most competitive price they can. They are also noted as having a very good parts department. Anyway, you've been given plenty of options.

Another +1 for Mike at Sports & Classic; not the closest to you (and certainly some of the others suggested come with excellent reputations too), but whenever I'm there, customers are bringing cars from all over the country to him. I've been very pleased with his work as, clearly, others are too.
