I think it's fair to say he's better now than he ever has been.

that said, he's not the best out there currently.

This.

When the car is one of the best and set up just the way he likes it there are only a handful who would be in the same league. As a man who can endure the roughest machines on the track and yet still usually come out with a smile on his face and help the team develop the car he is almost with out equal.

As a whole though whilst, I would say he was well in the top ten on the grid yesterday, there are others who are better.

If you also think that the ability to be in the right car at the right time is also an attribute any good driver should have he's on a bit of a loser...

He was doing a lot of helmet swapping over the weekend with other drivers. Could it have been goodbyes ??

I'd put him in the top 5. (in order)
Lewis
Fernando
Seb
Nico or Button in fourth/fifth. I'd be inclined to put Nico above JB, purely down to quali pace, which Nico would win quite comfortably.

You think he's a better driver now than when he won his wdc, and the 3 years at Mclaren with Lewis?! rolleyes

You should be giving JB alittle more credit than that, to say a driver who made his debut at the the age of 20, has FINALLY peaked in the final 1-2 years of his career at the age of 35!...

Basically, yes.

He is a far better driver in terms of the full package of not just raw talent, but considered thinking.

Yes, he is not about to win the wdc, but as i am sure you know, you can only do that in the right car.

I would suggest he is now as good as alonso.

In that case, you mustn't rate Fernando all that high up on your list of best drivers.

If you have no chance of winning it becomes easier to beat a guy who only cares about winning.

Better than most in the car.

The best out of the car - sponsors adore him.

I think his best year in terms of pure speed arguably was 2004 but he's had some very good ones since obviously.

I really like JB, mainly because he is a really nice guy and that Canada win shows his car control is unparalleled if the car is setup right.

But despite all that sunshine I can't say he is the best, being able to drive round a rubbish car's poor traits would be all it takes though.
