Well, Fernando Alonso has made no secret of the fact that Le Mans is on his bucket list, maybe Ron Dennis has just given him the opportunity to do it in 2016 ??

Not sure who he could drive for, but maybe, just maybe...........??

With Audi and Porsche confirming along with Toyota that they will run just two cars each for Le Mans 2016 I doubt there is a seat for him in a potentially winning car so it seems unlikely.

All been cleared-up as a case of a journalist ignoring the facts to make a great story. Ron Dennis has said he was asked if it was feasible for Alonso to take a sabbatical year and the journo reported the "Anything's possible" part of his reply...but not the "but Fernando and Jenson are driving next year." part.

Now there COULD be more to it than that but given the press have spent all year looking for any combination of McLaren/Honda/Alonso split and this was their last chance, and Alonso's clear WFT? reaction to the first questions on the issue I think it's a non-story.
