Menu for the day is Currently looking like this

Roast potatoes and Parsnips
Sauteed sprouts and chestnuts
Root Veg crumble with maple syrup
Pork, sage and onion stuffing (made with pork shoulder – Jamie Oliver style)
Pigs in blankets, Devils on horsebacks
Proper Gravy.

Dessert

Trio of desserts

Mini Sherry trifle
Mini Christmas pudding
Mini mince pie

Cheeses & home-made Port and dark chocolate Christmas cake.

Maple syrup and gravy in the main course? No carrots?

Carrots are part of the Crumble, along with parsnip, squash, celeriac and swede. The maple syrup will hopefully compliment it rather than overpower

More bonus points from me.
Turkey can be nice, but having worked (years ago) in catering I saw far too much reheated portions of the stuff.
P.S I'll give the puds a miss (just personal choice)
