I'm currently going through a pain of a situation with admiral which I won't describe to avoid breaking the name and shame rules, but does anyone have a contact of someone I can talk to that won't just mindlessly read off a script and fail to answer questions?

Many thanks

Do the complaints number for policies or claims not get you through to people who can help? I imagine the answer is "no"!

I've actually found them to be quite good on the phone.

I won't name Admiral in case I break any name and shame rules

Lol

I wonder if writing Adrian Flux are useless would attract such indifference from the mods

I have no connection to either company just in case someone gets giddy.

I've used the complaints procedure a couple of times before and would recommend them! They addressed each of my concerns and got things done.

Thanks guys, I will say I insured with them fine last year and without going in to too great a detail it's a classic car related issue that wouldn't come up with a general policy, in my experience of them on general policies they have been excellent. This issue is a bit of computer says no and lack of common sense but it needs sorting.

As for the other company I think we all know how they are regarded.

I know you'll call me pedantic, but there are two parts to naming and shaming. My take is that only one of then has been done by the op!

I would agree that the complaints team at Admiral do have authority and can get things done (y). Depends on the complaint of course...

I organised the insurance for my son on Admiral's classic car policy, and he's a young driver.
Yes, you will find that the computer says no. But if you can get to talk to the right person, then they will know how to treat your individual case and contact their underwriter directly for an appropriate level of cover/price. It's worth persevering.

Why persevere with a company that has a front office that sit behind computers that say no when you can deal with a good company who do it right straight away?

That's pretty much beside the point. The point being that when it goes wrong you want to be able to sort it out. Expecting it never to go wrong is hopeful, but not realistic. Admiral/Elephant/Bell are reputed to be at the budget end of the market, but my experience so far is excellent. The OP has issues, let's hope they are easily sorted.

You have seen the 9 page stickied, paid for thread, that seems to do nothing other than slate Adrian Flux haven't you hehe

Brilliant marketing.

If it helps at all, if you call later on at night, rather than in the day time you get through to Canada, rather than India.

See below in bold. It doesn't t.ook like he's asking for the email address to compliment them.

Nope, I've just seem mods be very quick to delete any criticism of them in this sub forum. I slate MCE in the Biker Banter section and there's no issue, I aimed a fairly bland shot at Bikesure and it was deleted and I had a little holiday from the forum a while back.

Understood, but I don't take "I've got an issue which I need to complain about to get resolved" as counting as shaming.

I know it's not explicit, but the implication is certainly there. Either way, I'm baffled why anyone would choose to insure a classic with Admiral. I'm guessing price is the key piece here and he's unhappy that there is something that makes him / his car no longer insurable, but he won't go elsewhere as they're charging more.
