I've garaged my Elise temporarily for this reason. It's got slightly old tyres on. Plenty of tread, when I picked it up two months ago it was fine. This last couple of weeks it is just scary- you never knew if you were going to turn a wheel and suddenly have nothing there.Also, nice of The Sun's coverage of the article to include more graphic details. Very tasteful.

On the topic of grip levels being so much lower in cold (and damp) weather. Do scuderias (speciales?) come on track day / circuit biased tyres?
Hate seeing incidents like this. I know accidents happen and I enjoy a spirited drive, but terrible to see others getting tangled up in a drivers accident (I appreciate we don't know the details, but you'd have to suspect the car has mounted the pavement due to a driver error). Hope none are too badly hurt.

Because this is going to be all about some "rich w****r" driving his "pe**s replacement" at "high speed".... The jealous factor is high.I just hope people are ok. I wonder if the driver just did a "watch this" moment and lost the rear in the cold/damp.
