For those short on time, HMRC are re-classifying pick-ups, going forwards anything with a double cab (or presumably, a second row of seats - 1.5 cabs beware), is going to be considered a car for tax / BIK purposes, not a commercial vehicle. This will hit quite a lot of people, given just how many pick-ups there seem to be about (UK is a very big market for them).

Personally, I recognise there will be lots of small business owners complaining, but I think this should wipe a lot of inefficient, heavy, poor - handling trucks that are currently run through businesses as commercial vehicles, yet seldom used as such. It's not quite an efficiency tax, but a step in that direction. A minority with genuine need, will certainly feel the pain.

Will see see more single-cab pick-ups as a result of this..? There are not many, and most are basic, utility spec - not the accessorised 'Barbarian', 'Neanderthal' ones that seem popular with certain ... types.
