So what’s the experts view on the market this year? We have a new Bailey B62 on order but to be honest, it’s a year early for us as we have lots of other travel plans and house moves to sort out. We were slightly panicked into buying it as there seemed to be such long waiting lists for campervans and prices were creeping up all the time. Wondering whether to stick with our purchase or come back next year?

We went yesterday, didn't really see anything different from 5 years ago let alone 2.

However as a self builder why are there no companies that seem to sell van parts? I would love to see someone sell self fitting cupboards, doors, windows, etc. All I see is amazing pro builds costing 6 figures. Does an event like this exist?

Tbh not a lot, as there's been the chassis shortage they've stuck with the same stuff rather than change things when people.who dealt a year or two ago are only picking up now

What's a Bailey B62?
Whatever it is stick with it as it will be cheaper than waiting a year

With the caveat that we haven’t seen it in the fresh yet, our selection was based on what appears to be a fully equipped van for a relatively good price. Only option we would need is a TV. We weren’t too impressed with the build quality of Swift Carreras we looked at locally and Adrias / Malibu’s were much more expensive.

I'd delve a bit deaper.

Me and nags head work at 2 different big dealers neither of us do bailey.

I'm in parts so see all the parts ordered up for warranty work , autotrail and swift are worst however i can get hold of parts far quicker than the European companies.

Oh it's the van conversion!
Weirdly I'd excitedly seen the reviews and went to habe a look around it before the show opened but I'm not a Bailey dealer and the model number never registered.
Yeah looks pretty good to me, the shape of the Transit really works against it as a van conversion hence why there's so few out there but Bailey have worked uncharacteristically hard to get around that.
Spec and price point is great and they kept the layout simple unlike the other one in the range which really doesn't look good.
Only big negative for me us the bathroom , they e borrowed the hideaway idea from Globecar to give max space in the pinchpoint opposite the kitchen but it's tight and defo a compromise but every van will have a week point and can't see what else they could have done, Fiat/Peugeot is much boxier.
Bar that yeah I think its good, I've good mates from 2 dealerships on the Bailey stand and they said they aren't selling well but it's a new model so maybe needs time to establish itself.

Can’t believe you said that….the Fiat Bravo was a very well deserved winner…….

Thanks for the input by the way.

We went to the show again, looking at van conversions as usual. We looked in that Bailey, the Transit doesn't make a good base vehicle IMO, it's too narrow as it tapers towards the roof, I'd 100% recommend having a look in one in person before ordering. Felt very cramped to me, and the lack of width means that the loo/shower compartment has a weird revolving tambour door set up.
