I've been many times over the years, sometimes staying as far away as Venlo where friends had a hotel, sometimes staying in Essen (Hotels Atlantic, Bredeney, Ypsilon) or Bochum (Ibis). I should imagine that with it being relatively close to the date of the show you'll have to take whatever you can if you want to stay anywhere near the Messe.
I had to stop going several years ago, my legs can't cope with all the walking. A pity as it was always the best show by far of its kind.

First year in a long time that I’m not going.

Sorry don’t know the answer, there would be a cloak room for your coat but not sure for luggage. FYI i did the whole show in 5 hrs but that was yesterday and it wasn’t that busy
I went yesterday, did the show in 5 hours with the wife !
To be honest not what I was expecting, it was 99% a car sale show, most of the cars were “for sale” auto jumble was mainly die cast cars and wall art with no prices !
I was hoping for more technical stuff, German tools,
More specialist companies showing there products, there was a lack of this sort of thing, then the club stands were obviously very German car related.
Glad I have made the effort to go but won’t be going back in a hurry.

And back. Another year, another show, more currywurst . Brilliant.
The show has definitely got smaller since the pandemic. I suspect it’s due to the whole cost-of-living thing, a cooling market, and manufacturers cutting costs by not attending. BUT this year felt the same size as last year at least, and weirdly, the variety and quality was way up. Seeing one high-end dealer with either a 250GT or 275GTB and a 35km Trabant (yes, really) on the same stand was a particularly nice contrast!
As always, lost of 911s (no bad thing of course), but amongst them nearly everything you’d ever want to see, from a Montiverdi High Speed to a Bizzarini 5300, via Facel Vegas, a 959, gorgeous Alfa 1900s and even a Mazda Cosmo.
